On Anger

I'm angry a lot lately. I don't seem to know why.

Usually, there is an answer, but it tends to be buried deep inside oneself and be uncomfortable.

Anger is like a mask for another, more complicated feeling. It acts as a protection layer. It protects the bearer of those more complicated feelings from having to feel those.

But this protection comes with a price: The pain cannot go away, that is not how the world works. Anger merely transfers the pain to the people interacting with the bearer of feelings.

That's not very fair.
